Do the employees need to remove their socks and shoes?
This will depend upon the class format that you choose. Meditation as well as chair yoga postures can be a great format to relive stress and tension, while not requiring the removal of shoes, and allowing any clothing (suits, ties, dresses) to be worn. If you prefer a little deeper release, we can offer a series of postures that would be best without shoes, but certainly could still keep on socks and wear work trousers. If you seek a more vigorous sequence of yoga postures, this would entail the removal of shoes and the recommendation to change into more comfortable clothing allowing for maximum movement.
Do we have to have yoga mats?
If you choose a class format that requires yoga mats we provide those, included in the price (up to 15 mats) of the class. For more than 15 participants, we would charge a fee to purchase any additional mats. For classes that are weekly ongoing, we will bring mats and request that they be stored at your business for the duration of your participation. Additionally, we provide sanitizing wipes for cleaning the mats at the end of each session. For one-time special events we will bring yoga mats with us as well. Yoga mats would be used for classes that entail getting down onto the floor.
how long should sessions last to enjoy the benefits?
It is a common myth that you must spend long periods of time meditating or practicing yoga to experience benefits. We find that our 30 minute class option is an optimal length of time to help participants find profound stress release, returning to work feeling refreshed. More beneficial than length of each session, is having regular sessions. Meditating and learning exercises to undo stress benefit from regular repeated practice. It's similar to the idea of muscle memory and exercise; the more frequent you meditate, the easier it becomes to drop into a meditative relaxed state.
what is the cancellation policy?
We do book our sessions in advance and are coordinating sessions with numerous local organizations. We request that a full 1 weeks notice is given in order to reschedule without a rescheduling fee. Cancellation within seven days of a scheduled session would not be eligible for rescheduling at no charge.
how many people can participate in a session?
We do not limit how many participants can join in a session. Any limitations will have more to do with space available at your facility. If there are more than 15 participants, we would require an additional fee for the purchase of yoga mats and blocks. We can offer meditation sessions in larger auditorium settings just as easily as a small conference room. When leading yoga postures, we do prefer to limit participants to approximately 35 students for safety purposes.
can we have a one time class or do we have to enroll in multiple sessions?
You get to decide how you set this up! One-time sessions can be a perfect opportunity for team building events or for times when you have a heavy schedule of meetings to help break up the day. We also offer weekly sessions that require a minimum of a three month commitment. Weekly classes are led by the same teacher each week, building on the student-teacher relationship over time.
